First of all, I can't say enough good things about "Must Have Marvin"! This is my son's favorite book in a long time. This is actually a new book in the same series from Shine Bright Kids. "Can't Wait Willow" is the first book in the series, and my daughters love that one! I'm happy they now they offer picture books for both boys and girls--and we can't wait for more! Must Have Marvin is a great book. And Willow is even in it. My daughters were so excited! The story is wonderful, the reader can't wait to see what happens next, the ending is fabulous, and the message is encouraging and inspiring.
Marvin loves new things -- he especially loves finding the latest, greatest, most awesome new things! Soon Marvin finds himself focusing on a new toy that he wants, to the exclusion of his friends. He lets them down when they need his help and nearly loses their friendship. Through a chat with a wise neighbor and a second chance to help, Marvin learns the important life lesson that people are more important than things. For ages 4-8.
